You can convert a lead into a deal to move it through the sales pipeline.
You can't take this action on leads that have been rejected or expired by the supplier.
To convert a lead into a deal:
- Navigate to your Leads page.
- Find the lead you want to update, and click on it to open its details page.
-
Click New Deal.
- [Optional] In the New Deal form, select the Deal Type (if your supplier is using them).
-
Complete the information about the deal.
Some information from the lead may be transferred to the deal for you.
Required fields are indicated by an asterisk *.
Notes about deal forms:
-
The form is based on configuration provided by your supplier.
- Do not use punctuation (e.g. a comma) in Total Value.
- Your supplier controls whether you can choose the currency for the deal, and which ones you can use.
-
-
[Optional] Use the Upload Attachments area to include files of additional information for the deal.
Browse for a file, or drag and drop one from your desktop into the field.
Up to 10 files can be uploaded per deal.
Each file must be 50MB or less.
Supported file types - .avi, .bmp, .csv, .dib, .doc, .docx, .dot .gif, .ics, .jfif, .jpeg, .jpg, .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .odg, .odp, .ods, .odt, .pdf, .pjp, pjpeg, .png, .ppt, .pptx, .psd, .rtf, .svg, .svgz, .text, .txt, .xls, .xslx, .zip
Your supplier decides whether/how they want you to supply attachments for the deal - they will specify one of these options:
- Attachments are required - you can't submit a deal if it doesn't have an attachment
- Attachments are optional
- Only suppliers can include attachments - any attachments on a deal will be read only, and you're not permitted to submit your own
- Click Save as Draft to save the deal as a draft in your workspace and return to complete it later. Deal Name is the only required field for a draft deal.
- Click Submit Deal to send the deal registration request to your supplier for approval. This option is available when:
- All supplier-defined required fields are populated.
- Contacts and line items aren't required for the deal.
-
The deal shows in the Deals area of the lead details page. It’s given a % indicator based on its current stage in the buying journey (you may have set this when creating the deal).
A lead's status is automatically marked as Qualified when it's converted into a deal.
